Farhad Halimov was born in 1963 in Samarqand. From the age of 19 to 23, he studied the qijak viol at the Sadriddin Ayni Pedagogical Institute and became a member of the Guldasta Instrumental Ensemble conducted by Ravshan Hamroqulov. As well as possessing a vast repertoire in two languages, Tajik-Persian and Uzbek-Chagatay, he has also composed numerous songs on classical verses and is particularly adept at instrumental improvisation, something extremely rare in this culture region. This collection has 12 tracks and some of them are: ‘Golkhani', ‘Chapandaz Qalandar', ‘Lovers of Samarqand', ‘Moqolche-ye Segah' and ‘Chol Araq'.
